Holistic Relationship Counselling
HOW are you different to a conventional Counsellor?
A holistic counsellor meets the whole person – every aspect of your being – whomever shows up on the day is who and what we work with. We allow information to come in and this is where we begin.
We use what is needed in the moment, of what presents itself, for you, to find meaning in what you have experienced, and to facilitate your journey forward.
As a therapist who works with all aspects of your self, we open to larger contexts and connections to allow information to come in through the felt sense that allows us to ‘see’ and to experience you. This incoming information helps us locate what you are really struggling with and to check with you that this is indeed the case.
We always explain what we are about to do and why. That said, we never do anything without express permission from you and your family system.
We also an array of tools and techniques, backed up by the latest neuroscience to shine a light in the parts in areas that are difficult to look at. If there is something that you cannot talk about, then it is here that we talk about it – again – in your own space and time, and with your permission.
We use among many other tools:
• Active and Empathic listening
• Creative Visualisation
• The work of Byron Katie
• Family Constellations
• Organisational Constellations
• Effective Communication
• Non-violent Communication
i am not sure this is for me - can i just try it out?
Yes, please do - you can attend just one session to see what is there for you. Like a try-before-you-buy. Once you have a good feel for if this is for you, then you have the option of booking another session if you want. Just click the Book Now button on this page.
WHY SHOULD I ATTEND COUNSELLING?
Confidentiality is not always observed by family members and can aggravate your situation. This is why I encourage you to meet with a professional, outside your friends and family, to get an objective view on your situation. Counselling provides that space to explore options, and to make your own decisions that truly nourish and support you. Overall you will begin to feel better, and become better resourced than you already are.
HOW DO I GET THERE using public transport?
Springwood Station is the nearest bus station - it is a 10 minute walk to my location. There are no trains running nearby. Most people find a walk helpful before and after a session as it focusses their mind on their intention for the session, and helps them digest what we have done in session, after the session.
If you have an evening appointment, I will often drop you at the station to ensure your safety at night.
You can use Translink to plan your journey.
i live too far away, do you do online counselling?
Yes, I do. Zoom (https://zoom.us) is my preferred choice of tool for online counselling. Using the BOOK NOW button, just choose the Online Counselling Option to book your appointment, and then make sure you transfer the your payment with enough time for it to reach my bank account prior to the your session. I will send through an email notification to you prior to our meeting, and you just click on the links to connect.
Are my sessions confidential?
Yes, 100%. Confidentiality is the number one priority. Your information is kept under lock and key, and is only shared with your permission, in front of you and with total visibility. The only time a therapist would break confidentiality is if you are in danger of harming yourself, others or have knowlegde of a reportable crime. This said, it is always done with your permission, and in front of you with total visibility and transparency.
