Relationship Counselling - Abuse
Abuse can take many forms. The areas I work specifically work with include:
Each type of abuse is treated differently and my approach is to see where giving and taking has a role to play in the dynamic that makes up abuse.
In your session, as we start to work on the issue, we will get clear around what constitutes the abuse. This can have its roots in many areas and these will be revealed as we shine the light in dark corners to bring you to a place, not only where you can look, but where 'going there' no longer feels like it will collapse you internally.
Symptoms of Abuse include:
Together we look to see what has been taken without being given, and how to find meaning in what happened. Like a sapling grows into a tree, we look at ways to strengthen you before we even start to look in the direction of the abuse.
Emotional abuse can be debilitating if left unchecked. Common terms in use these days also include gaslighting, stonewalling and narcissist. You can be sure that you need to book an appointment if you find that these terms are being bandied about in conversations around you or your partner, and you can see the truth in them.
